Friday the 30th. We have our “Rest” day in Namche. “Resting” should not be confused with resting.

Today we walked up to the Sherpa museum and then through the highest airport landing strip to a tea house way above Namche to have tea and get our first view of Mount Everest.

Sherpa Museum

As John (the father) said, being here touches one spiritually. “Tears don’t mean I’m sad. They just mean that I am moved by what I see.”
We walked back down to Namche for a hardy Sherpa lunch and some time to wander about this rather large village.

All are well rested (despite our effort) and eager to hit the trail tomorrow!
