01:  Shivapuri Hill Hike:

Located in the Northern part of Kathmandu valley. Shivapuri Narjun National Park lies about 12 Kilometer away from the center of capital city. The Shivapuri hill is the second highest hill near Kathmandu valley at an altitude of 2563 m. It is the origination point of revered rivers, Bagmati and Bishnumati. Sprawled over 159 Sq.km. with dense forests it is home to 177 species of birds.

Including at least 9 threatened species, 102 species of butterflies with a number of rare and endangered species, and 129 species of mushroom.

02:  Balthali Village Hike: 

“With four suspension bridge in this route, across each bridge lies a story that you can tell.”

This route lies in Southeast of Kathmandu valley. You will need to leave through Banepa Bazar in order to get there. After crossing Banepa next place you will come across is Panauti Bazar, it is a historical city in Nepal. Ahead of Panauti is Khopasi, Khopasi is a village development committee in Kabhrepalanchok district in the Bagmati zone.

Hike starts from Khopasi, beside dam, from where we will walk through the motorway and hike uphill from the fabricated way of villagers for the very first hour of hike. Route will be the combination of motor path as well as the narrow village path.

03:  Namobuddha Circuit Hike: 

“A magical and peaceful Buddhist pilgrimage place”

40 KM away from Kathmandu lies one of holiest pilgrimage site in the word for Buddhist. Legends say a young prince, Mahasattva, (in some versions, reincarnation of Buddha himself) while walking in a forest with his brothers saw a tigress with 5 cubs she had just given birth to. The tigress was so hungry that she could barely move. Overcome with compassion, he began to feed the tigress and her cubs by cutting his flesh.

Later when other brothers came searching for him, found only his bones and hairs. A stupa was built on top of these remains , now known as NAMO BUDDHA. A small shrine a few minutes’ walk uphill from the stupa contains statues of the prince together with the tigress and her cubs. We will take you to this holy site to pay homage to the Great prince, Mahasattva.

04:  Champadevi Hill Hike: 

“Champadevi (2278  m) is the third highest hill in Kathmandu”

Champadevi hill is located in Southern part of Kathmandu at an elevation of 2214 m. Our hike will begin from the beautiful lake, Taudaha at Chovar. The lake, arguably the only clean water body remaining in the Kathmandu Valley, is a stopover for numerous migratory bird species. Some of the visitors to the lake include the cormorants, Ruddy Shelduck, Serpent eagle, common teal.

After a brief introduction we will begin our hike towards the champadevi hill. The trail on the ridge offers a spectacular view of mountains from Annapurna to Gaurishankar and beyond in a clear day and a bird’s eye view of Kathmandu valley.

05:  Dhulikhel To Nagarkot Hike: 

“Nagarkot is one of the best view points for mountains, sunrise and sunset view”

Dhulikhel is the administrative centre of Kavrepalanchowk District, Nepal. At the time of the 2011 Nepal census it had a population of 16,263 people in 3,291 households. Two major highway B.P. Highway and Arniko Highway passes through Dhulikhel. It is a really lovely town with lot of attraction and natural beauties.

Nagarkot is a former Village Development Committee located 32 km east of Kathmandu, Nepal in Bhaktapur District in the Bagmati Zone and as of 2015 part of Nagarkot Municipality. There is lot of attraction around Nagarkot, mostly people went on jaunt in this place, it is the place where lot of local as well as tourist spend weekends.

06:  Ranikot – Lankuri Bhanjyang – Pilot Baba Hike: 

“The best aerial views of Kathmandu, Bhaktapur & Lalitpur”

This short jaunt hike will be taking place in the southern part of Kathmandu, which is so favorable place during winter because the possibilities of seeing our snow capped mountain with bird-eye view of three districts.Probably depending upon the climate of the day.

The path will consist of motorways including beautiful scenario of southern hill and exquisite landscape. While walking through this path, we’ll be eventually arriving at place called “Ranikot”. The last stop will be the very well known place “Pilot Baba Ashram”.

07:  Sankhu – Manichur Hike

Sankhu is a ancient Newari town located just 17 km away from Kathmandu city. Once an important stop on the old trade route from Kathmandu to Lhasa, its rich cultural heritage and traditional lifestyle makes it a must visit place for anyone who want to get away at least for a day from the humdrum of routine work and the pollution of Kathmandu city.

The famous Vajrayogini Temple built by Hindu King Prakash Malla in 1655 is one of the best tourist attraction of Sankhu. We will start our hike from Sankhu visiting Vajrayogini Temple and ascend towards Manichaur passing through different villages and jungle with beautiful landscapes. We will walk uphill for about 3 hours.

08:  Bhimdhunga – Indra Daha – Thankot Hike

Indra Daha also known as Daha chowk lies just 5 KM Northwest from Kalanki, Kathmandu. It is an exotic place with abundance of natural beauty and is historically and religiously significant. The graveyard of Kazi Kalu Pandey, Prime Minster under The Great Prithivi Narayan Shah who was the driving force behind the unification campaign of The Great PN shah lies there. 

Indra Daha itself a religiously significant pond believed to be in existence since Satya Yug. It is believe that god Indra took bath in the pond to get rid of curse of Gautam Rishi for his infidelity. Nowadays there is a belief that taking bath in the pond will get oneself rid of different diseases.

09:  Nagarjun Hill Hike

“Best peace and calm Jungle environment”

Nagarjun is Located in western part of Kathmandu valley at an elevation of 2095 meters, Nagarjun hill is a two and half hours uphill and one and half hour downhill hike on the temperate slope of the hill. This trail is perfect for people who want to hike around Kathmandu Valley. Also known as Jamacho by local language, it’s known for the cave of residence of Nagarjuna, a famous Buddhist saint who meditated here.

The starting point of this trail is about one kilometer away from Balaju Bypass on the way towards Kakani. It is a part of Shivapuri Nagarjun National Park. If you are lucky, you could easily spot pheasants, deers and monkeys on the way. You will be hiking under a canopy of forests until you reach the ridge, so the sun will not be hovering over you. The hill is famous for Buddhist Gompa, Sacred caves and beautiful scenery.

10:  Chandragiri Hill Hike

“Chandragiri hill is a superb place to enjoy at height”

The Chandragiri Range spreads in the south west of Kathmandu Valley. The hiking will starts from Machhegaun Village at Kritipur which is 15 minutes ahead from Machhe NArayan temple. You will be walking through the traditional village for half an hour. Then you will climb uphill through forests and hills until you reach the top of the hills.

Chandragiri is an exotic destination and on a clear day you could observe Mt. Api, Saipal to Everest, Makalu, Kanchanjunga Manaslu, Ganesh Himal, Langtang himal, Dorje Lakpa and Gaurishankar mountains range.
